Allie's Trauma-informed yoga provides a safe and gentle approach to the practice that aims to build confidence, establish safety in the body, and lessen trauma response symptoms.
Reduce Symptoms of PTSD
Trauma exists in the body, and trauma-informed yoga helps clients to release trauma from the body. This is accomplished by heightening their body awareness, learning to tolerate senses, and learning to breathe through it. PTSD and Anxiety decreases.
Therapy balls address and support the body, helping to reduce pain, release tension, nourish tissues, and address structural issues. They are helpful for regular self-care practice, to address
chronic tension areas, and as a supplement to other integrative care. A therapy ball can be rolled along a tight muscle or pressed into a trigger point, addressing the tissue in a way that is similar to Myofascial bodywork.

Allie's Favorite Yoga
Restorative yoga is a slower, more restful, more passive approach to yoga that's meant to melt away muscle tension, create space in the body& alleviate stress. During a typical session of restorative yoga at home (ON ZOOM) you'll hold just a few tension-relieving Yin poses for 5-30 minutes! You'll pay close attention to your breath while maintaining a pose and breathing deeply into your body.
Accessible yoga is a form of modern yoga as exercise with adapted asanas designed to be suitable for people who are unable to follow a standard yoga class through age, illness, or disability. It includes various forms of what has been called Chair Yoga, and has also been described as adaptive yoga.

At Allie's Yoga, our mission is to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for individuals to explore the physical and mental benefits of yoga. We believe that yoga is for every body and strive to create a supportive community for all of our students.
Allie is an amazing yoga teacher and nutritional guide. I was diagnosed with RA in 2010 and felt completely horrible mentally, emotionally and physically. Through Allie’s guidance of anti inflammatory nutrition, yoga and her genuine care and support I have been completely prescription drug free for 12 years. I feel amazing and I know my body and what it needs and how to recognize when I need to make little adjustments to feel my best. Allie will show you how make life long changes that will last. She’s the BEST!

Allie’s oversight has been life changing for me. Her teachings are holistic, including the physical and emotional guidance of Yin and Hatha Yoga, as well as the principles and practices of a full Vegan diet. Allie’s influence has lead me to an ideal healthy stasis!
Josh- Atlanta
Allie helped me with a mostly vegan diet plan over 4 months that enabled me to lose 40 pounds. She showed me how to shop for healthy foods, develop a meal plan, and cook healthy meals. She also provided the much needed support that I needed to stick to the plan. Allie leads a healthy lifestyle and can help you to do the same. I highly recommend her if you are looking to change your eating habits to something healthier and more sustainable without denying yourself taste and satisfaction.

Most of us are aware of the benefits of a Yoga practice for our physical well-being. Until one has experienced expert guidance of a talented, dedicated and highly trained Yogi like Allie Bourgeois, they have not begun to reach their potential development in the practice of Yoga.
As a virtual beginner who had occasionally dabbled in Yoga, it was not until I sought Allie’s guidance that I realized the results that the practice of Yoga could produce for me and my personal physical-, spiritual-and emotional self.
I came to Allie after a series of potentially devastating health issues which reduced me to “a mere shadow of my former self”, as the old adage goes. After several weeks confined to a hospital bed followed by months of recovery, I was left weak and with severely atrophied muscles in addition to a weakened spirit and a more sensitive emotional state.
Allie readily accepted the challenge to teach and guide me. Utilizing her high level of training and genuine interest in her students, she was able to start me out at the proper level for my present state at the time. Through her guidance and instruction I steadily progressed. She has the training, expertise and experience to monitor her students’ physical conditions and factor in any known health issues to guide them properly in their own individual practice.
Meditation is an important part of an overall Yoga practice and Allie has the wisdom and expertise to incorporate that into the actual physical part of learning and executing Yoga poses. Under her guidance, meditation became an important part of my daily routine.
In addition to Yoga and Meditation, Allie is knowledgeable and experienced in nutrition and its effect on our well-being. She regularly provides guidance in beneficial nutritional practices with an explanation of the effects of foods and ingredients ondeveloping a healthy lifestyle. I have greatly benefitted from that knowledge and guidance. She readily shares recipes and even on occasion, dishes based on those recipes.
Allie uses her culinary expertise in combination with her knowledge and experience in Yoga and her understanding and practice of meditation to provide her students with a complete path to enhancement of their physical, spiritual and emotional being.

Allie,
You may not realize how often I think of you but I hear your voice 3-4 times a week as I do your recorded class from my iPhone. Of course, I have the sequence of the first two sessions memorized, but I prefer to have your voice guiding me and find that I can still improve each posture by really trying each little extra bit of instruction that you wove into the recordings. Magical!
My toes are so much more flexible, my planks have gone from one "3-breath” to two "10 breath” and I could do more, I can almost get my legs straight in various stretched positions, I can do chair 5X as long and so on. I’m sleeping better, making some progress on losing the "Covid 10”, and have had no recurrence of bursitis. I attribute this to your yoga and thank you!

Allie is the BEST ! Not only is she technically competent in the details of the poses she teaches but she is NURTURING, ACCEPTING, and COMPASSIONATE. A class with Allie leaves me centered, refreshed, and more flexible. And she equips and motivates me to continue my practice at home. I highly recommend her gentle style of yoga, it is easy to learn yet incredibly effective. I've taken yoga from several teachers at various studios and Allie is by far the best. Don't take my word for it. Sign up. for a class today!

From the moment that I walked into Allies class, I knew she would be the teacher I was looking for. Her demeanor, humor, knowledge and kindness were very apparent. I felt safe with her. I had taken classes with another teacher for two years and would leave those classes in pain. I told Allie about this. She said that should never be and proceeded to teach me, correctly, how to do the poses that used to hurt me. I've never gone back to that other teacher! Allie has, literally, changed my life for the better. I trust her completely. She is kind and genuine, a true Guru.

If you judge a yoga class by the way you feel afterwards, then you’ll love Allie’s classes. I always leave feeling invigorated yet calm, grateful, and present.
Allie teaches with humor and humility, always grounding the spiritual aspects of yoga with practical tools and insightful cues along the way. More than anything, I trust in her care and knowledge—Allie always has a watchful eye and encouraging word for all of her students. She’s just the best!

I absolutely love Allie and her yoga teaching style. I started when we were in lockdown because of Covid doing Allie’s zoom classes, that was almost 3 years ago. Her classes are perfect for me. I do 3 classes a week .
Beth- Atlanta
Allie’s yoga is the best. Allie is the best instructor, keeping an eye on her students to make sure the poses are done correctly. She truly cares about her students and it shows in her teaching style. She wants everyone to experience what feeling good actually feels likes! I’m so thankful I found her classes.
Marjorie- Atlanta
Allie is a the best Yoga teacher I have known. Walking around the class to make sure we are all doing our yoga practice correctly so there are no injuries, is a great way to teach.
Thanks Allie.
Denise- Atlanta
I have attended Allie’s yoga classes since she started at the CWC and have practiced yoga since the 1970s. The thing I admire most about Allie is that she keeps pace with all the latest moves and news in yoga yet everyone moves at their own speed and ability. Thank you, Allie for a beneficial and enjoyable class.

Yoga with Allie is transformative. Whether in person or on Zoom, Allie is in tune with each student carefully making sure they are always practicing safely. After taking any of the classes she offers - my body, mind and soul are in an INFINITELY better place. Allie genuinely cares about each student always provides tips and additional education on health and wellness. She is especially compassionate and uses the gift of yoga to heal, meeting each students where they are in their yoga journey and applying her training and experience to their benefit. I have taken all types of yoga and had the benefit of many different instructors - Allie is the BEST!
Susan- Lake Arrowhead
I am a massage therapist and physician assistant, and I have been taking yoga classes from Allie off and on for 5 years. I still learn new things from Allie with every class I take.
The classes start off with a warm up, and end with a relaxation. She also reads wonderful meditations and stories at the end.
Eager to learn new things, she increases her knowledge by studying related disciplines like massage, physiology, physical therapy, posture, therapeutic and yin yoga.
She encourages questions and gives timely answers.
One of her main concerns is that her students don’t harm themselves while doing yoga.
She encourages us to pay attention and be kind to our bodies.
She also encourages us to respect our limits if we have knee, pelvic, back or shoulder problems.
Yoga is a life-long commitment for Allie. How lucky I am to have such an excellent teacher!

I met Allie in high school a millennia ago, but only began to know and appreciate her a few weeks ago
I tried for months to be a YouTube doc for my sudden hip/buttock pain - all of those strategies failed
I tried a chiropractor with a laser- no help at all
Lost and spiraling in my pain I found an MD with an impeccable demeanor and pedigree (Emory, Yale, Northwestern, Wake Forest) fellowship trained and ABA DBI board certified in anesthesiology and interventional pain management. Dashing and brilliant yes, but not helpful
I was truly desperate- unable to sleep or walk or perform daily functions
Allie heard of my trauma and repelled in to join my predicament
Within days of finding her Yoga on Zoom I was trending towards normalcy, in a few weeks I was fully tuned-up and had forgotten the severity of my disabilities.
Allie didn't forget.
She dutifully educated (and coaxed) me into a sustainable physical, spiritual, and dietary lifestyle
No pills, no bloated and expensive physicians - just thousands of years of wisdom and success channeled thru my Yogini Allie
My suggestion: commit to classes with Allie and trade in your "owchies" for "OM'S" and build a healthier happier future you.
MM- Grateful in Myrtle Beach
Allie has a huge following and this is why -
She is mindful of her student’s needs and limitations as she exudes with love and humor. She is truly a one of a kind teacher and human being.
